Position Summary:
The ReSale Driver is responsible for safely operating company vehicles to pick up donated merchandise, deliver customer purchases, and support ReSale logistics and cleanout operations. This position serves as a front-line representative of Habitat for Humanity and plays a critical role in providing excellent customer and donor service while supporting the organization's mission.
The ReSale Driver actively participates in loading, unloading, moving, and transporting furniture, appliances, building materials, and other donated merchandise. This role also supports the Cleanout & Removal Program by assisting with property cleanouts, hauling materials, and transporting items for resale, recycling, donation, or disposal.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, physically capable, and committed to providing a positive experience for donors, customers, and community members.
Key Responsibilities:
Donation Pickups & Customer Deliveries:
- Safely operate company vehicles to pick up donated merchandise from homes, businesses, and other locations.
- Deliver purchased merchandise from ReSale stores to customers' homes and businesses.
- Load, unload, secure, and transport furniture, appliances, building materials, and other merchandise safely and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer and donor service during all pickup and delivery interactions.
- Communicate professionally with donors and customers regarding schedules, arrival times, and service expectations.
- Inspect donated items for acceptance according to organizational guidelines and communicate concerns appropriately.
- Ensure all pickups and deliveries are completed accurately and efficiently.
Cleanout & Removal Services:
- Assist with residential, commercial, and storage unit cleanout projects.
- Remove furniture, appliances, household goods, construction materials, and other items as directed.
- Sort materials for resale, donation, recycling, or disposal.
- Transport materials to ReSale stores, recycling facilities, or disposal sites as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete cleanout projects safely and professionally.
Warehouse & Inventory Support:
- Assist with unloading donations and organizing merchandise at ReSale locations.
- Support inventory movement between ReSale stores as needed.
- Help maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and loading areas
- Assist store and donation teams with moving, stocking, and staging. merchandise.
Vehicle Safety & Maintenance:
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational driving policies.
- Ensure cargo is properly loaded and secured for safe transport.
- Assist with vehicle fueling, maintenance scheduling, and operational readiness.
Mission & Community Engagement:
- Serve as a positive ambassador for Habitat for Humanity and ReSale operations.
- Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and respect in all interactions.
- Help communicate the mission and impact of ReSale programs to donors and customers.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean and acceptable driving record required.
- Experience driving box trucks, delivery vehicles, or commercial vehicles preferred.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and follow all driving regulations.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with donors, customers, volunteers, and team members.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and move heavy items on a regular basis.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-focused.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule, including occasional weekends or extended hours as needed.
- Forklift certification or experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 75 pounds, with team assistance for heavier items.
- Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, standing, walking, and moving throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely load and unload trucks and navigate residential and commercial environments.
- Ability to work in warehouses, homes, construction environments, and outdoor settings in varying weather conditions.
