Reports to: Retail Store Manager
Status: Paid Staff

Position Summary:
The Donation Intake & Warehouse Coordinator supports the daily operations of the ReSale Store by managing donation intake, processing merchandise, and maintaining an organized warehouse environment. This role is well-suited for someone who is dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a hands-on setting.

This position plays a key role in ensuring donated goods are received, evaluated, priced, and prepared for sale in alignment with Habitat for Humanity’s mission. The Coordinator regularly interacts with donors, customers, and volunteers while helping maximize revenue through efficient operations and strong customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
Donation Intake & Customer Service:
  • Receive and acknowledge incoming donations in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Assist donors with unloading items and provide a positive donation experience.
  • Evaluate donated items for quality, safety, and resale potential using established guidelines.
  • Clearly communicate donation acceptance policies.

Pricing & Merchandise Processing:
  • Price donated items accurately using provided guidelines.
  • Prepare items for the sales floor, ensuring they are clean, safe, and properly labeled.
  • Move merchandise from warehouse to sales floor in a timely manner.
  • Maintain steady workflow with minimal supervision.

Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management:
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse space.
  • Sort, stage, and store incoming donations efficiently.
  • Follow safety procedures related to lifting and material handling.
  • Independently manage daily tasks and prioritize workload based on store needs.

Volunteer Support:
  • Provide basic guidance and direction to warehouse volunteers.
  • Model safe work practices and positive teamwork.
  • Help create a welcoming and productive volunteer environment.

Logistics & Operational Support:
  • Assist with donation pickups, deliveries, and loading/unloading.
  • Support overall store operations as needed.
  • Follow all organizational policies and safety standards.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in retail, warehouse, or customer service is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and complete tasks without constant supervision.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, including heat and varying conditions.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (typically 50+ lbs) throughout the day.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
